Eric Whiting

Eric is originally from Fort Collins, CO. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2013 and a M.S. in Physics in 2016 specializing in acoustics. His undergraduate research involved taking measurements of strong electromagnetic fields using a Slab Coupled Optical Sensor (SCOS). In his master’s research work, he analyzed the Phase and Amplitude Gradient Estimation (PAGE) method for calculating acoustic intensity.

Eric joined CEARL in 2016 and is currently working towards his PhD in electrical engineering under the direction of Dr. Douglas H. Werner. His research interests include computational electromagnetics, metamaterials and transformation optics, RF applications, and antenna design.
