Dr. Milan Polivka
Fulbright-Masaryk Visiting Researcher
Milan Polivka obtained his Ing. (M.S. equiv.), and Ph.D. in radioelectronics from Czech Technical
University in Prague (CTU), Prague, Czech Republic in 1996 and 2003, respectively. He received Assoc.
professor from CTU in 2013. He served as a Vice-dean for doctoral study and science from 2015 till 2018.
He is a member of Scientific Council of Faculty of electrical engineering, CTU. He joined CEARL as
Fulbright-Masaryk Visiting Researcher in December 2018.
Dr. Polivka is a former Chair of IEEE Czechoslovakia section, Chair of MTT/AP/ED/EMC chapter of IEEE CS
section, Associate Editor of Radioengineering journal, member of IEEE, and EuMA. He is the (co)author of
27 SCI-E journal papers, two book chapters, more than 100 conference papers, and the holder of 8
patents.
His research interests include antenna theory and design, small and low-profile antennas, wearable
antennas, multiband planar antennas for handheld devices, passive microwave technique, artificial EM
materials for antenna performance enhancement, RFID tags for indentification of people, chipless RFID
tags for information encoding and sensing, and related computer aided design.
