Ryan Chaky

Ryan was born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1995. He graduated from Bucknell University in 2017 with a B.S. Electrical Engineering as well as minors in Applied Mathematics and Physics. During his undergrad, Ryan worked with Professor Dave Kelley to develop and investigate the performance of a circularly polarized loop yagi antenna. Ryan joined the CEARL in 2017 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Penn State under the direction of Dr. Douglas H. Werner.

His research interests currently include antenna design (specifically loop antennas of any size, yagi antennas, circularly polarized antennas, and plasmonic antennas), metamaterials, and computational electromagnetics. Outside of research, Ryan’s interests include hiking, biking, kayaking, playing the clarinet, astronomy, and photography.
