Ronald Jenkins was born and raised in Grove
City, PA. His interests in computation and electrical engineering
emerged at a young age, but it was his undergraduate experience at
Grove City College which really spurred his desire to dig deeper
into the material. His senior design project, for which Ronald was
team leader, received the Grove City College Electrical Engineering
Department’s Technical Achievement award. In 2016, he graduated cum
laude from Grove City with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. In the
same year, he was accepted as a Ph.D. student at Penn State
University with Dr. Douglas H. Werner as his advisor.
In the summer of 2013, Ronald interned as a
programmer for Pine Instruments, Inc. The following summer he
participated in a research internship with Dr. Cory Boatright at
Grove City College where he worked with another student to create a
vector graphics application designed to automatically convert
traditional raster graphics image into a vector image. During the
summer of 2015, Ronald interned with ExH Engineering, Inc. where he
worked as a software engineer. His research interests include
machine learning, global optimization, control systems, and
computational electromagnetics.
